A new week listening to albums and songs and than put a few words, I decided to increase the album art, but boring to the thing (if you think of other ideas are welcome) and if anything, the links in the singles, are simply so you can hear the song (I'm not very videos).
To begin with, some records ...
The hazards of love The Decemberists (2009) .- With a narrative common throughout the disk, in a sort of rock opera, with haunting melodies, voices and sounds different folk, art, baroque, progressive and indie The fifth album from the Decemberists, has been consistently designed from start to finish, the brainchild of singer Colin Meloy and with guests such as singer Becky Stark of Lavender Diamond and vocalist Jim James of My Morning Jacket. The Hazards of Love to hear at least once, but yes, fluently and without "shuffle" in between ...
Avalanche BRITISH INDIA (2010) .- Australia has become a big exporter of music in recent times and one of those pleasant discoveries is that of the Melbourne quartet that brings a good dose garage and post punk with some saborcito noventero. Great guitars, infectious choruses and a good vocal work are part of an album that brings nothing but talking loudly again, serves to give a flavor with a band that has managed to enjoy success in their country of origin.
Strange is not it of weather! (2010) .- Three exclamation points (!!!) or 'chick, chick, chick' serve as California's nickname of this band that has more than a decade making music. With doses of funk, post punk, electro, disco and retro moments fail to sound like LCD Soundsystem, but I'm sure fans of electronics, you know enjoy this new disc.
The Courteeners Falcon (2010) .- Except one or two songs - and despite criticism that praise the band - this second album from the English is not my cup of tea (borrowed that expression "it's not my cup of tea"). It makes me sound very old fashioned, between eighties and noventero, do not quite decide between being a new wave and Brit pop and falling into repetition and monotía throughout its 50 minutes long. The voice sounds like a cardboard copy of Jarvis Cocker and I think by listening to a contagious and moved "You did it over doll" and the nostalgic "Cameo Brooch" (which reminds me of a topic that I can not identify) had had enough.
Only Revolutions by Biffy Clyro (2009) .- Sounds noventeros à la Foo Fighters, Bad Religion, great guitars, melodies and explosive vocals on stage are part of the band's fifth album under the Scottish form of a power trio delivers a very solid library filled with memorable moments. Being his best-selling album in the UK - and unfortunately without diffusion in North America, despite the European American sound before - it has great songs like "The captain", "Mountains", "Whorses", "God & Satan" and All "Bubbles", upbeat song, strong (but not heavy, eye) and quite contagious Josh has Homme as a guest on guitar.
And finally, some singles ...
"Closer to the edge" 30 SECONDS TO MARS .- I often do, I hear an album and find favorite shot - usually grab me by catchy melodies that ear is accustomed to hearing Beatles and radio hits - and this was the case of the third promotional war This is the third album by the band of Jared Leto. Synthesizers, programmed drums and other electronic sounds are preparing the arrival of a contagious chorus that explodes with a "I'm not saying, I'm sorry "that it may well be a hymn played in the band. With a lot of pop, but with all the rock energy is one of my favorite subjects and my favorite moment in the history of 30 Seconds To Mars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duYLdevin24
"Congratulations" from MGMT .- It is not wise thing to realize that the sound of MGMT is very different in this new album and the singles have also promoted another wave. The title song to the album, is the latest to receive broadcast - with video and everything - and winking at the music of the sixties is presented as a soft number with acoustic guitars, whispered vocals and a melancholic air. Great! Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_GvVnPsUeg
"Make me want to die" Pretty RECKLESS .- It is very plausible that an actor then rock - yes there are cases of actresses who were able to do its part in other genres - and I must admit that when I learned that Taylor Momsen, the young model and actress of "Gossip Girl" was a rock band and that the theme was No. 1 in rock charts in the UK, I did not give much credit. What good is wrong with these things, as the debut single these New Yorkers is a real rock number, with guitars present entrance, a dark, sexy voice - who travels between gothic, new wave and pop - and a melody that makes this a distinct issue. Momsen, for his age - 17 years - sounds experienced and honest, completely separates the league of celebrities with aspirations of rockstars and has nothing to envy of other popular singers. American radio seems to give a lot of baseball yet, but something England received with open arms, give a listen, it's worth. Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoOd9JDIPB0
