Peruvian exports would grow around 20 percent in 2011 driven by the entry into force of more trade agreements, said today the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).
Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Eduardo Ferreyros, said that by 2011 more than expected foreign sales, especially with major trading partners this year were signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) including the European Union and Republic of Korea.
"Next year we will implement the agreements with Korea and the European Union also also come into force on Early Harvest Protocol Preferences Partial Agreement with Thailand and the agreement with the countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), "he said.
remarked that as they are implementing the new agreement, Peru will begin to feel the benefits of tariff preferences for goods, and preferences for the issue of services and investments.
On the other hand, the minister said he hoped the new draft Law of Forestry and Wildlife is approved by the Congress of the Republic in this term.
should be noted that Peru had until August first to implement the commitments on forests which are set out in NAFTA, but this could not be met due to lack of the new Forestry Law and Wildlife.
"We are coordinating with Congress to make this project is adopted in this term. There is a concern because there is a commitment in the FTA with the United States have not complied fully, "he said.
emphasized that this bill was prepared in detail with various public sector organizations and, in recent months, members of Congress.
"We have information from Congress that they think work the bill very soon," he said after inaugurating the new Customs Clearance Process (NPDA) implemented by the airport services company Talma.
