DID YOU KNOW THAT ...? Smoking: leading cause of death in Mexico

According to figures from the Health Sector 165 people die every day from causes related to the consumption of snuff; ie more than 60 million Mexicans a year.

Young people are most affected sectors, and that 1.9% of primary and secondary consume 6.8% of snuff, according to the results of the National School Health Survey 2010.




The Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social has the smoker Care Clinic, which aims to rehabilitate people living with this addiction. The clinical management of physiological smoking involves attention to counter the chemical effects of nicotine, and psychological, to adjust to change the mental patterns that condition the habit of smoking.
