
Peruvian exports recorded a new monthly record at up to 3.040 million in June this year, which represented a 40.4 percent advance in relation to the same month last year, reported the National Superintendency of Tax Administration (Sunat).
This amount represents a record for exceeding the highest monthly amount received to date, which occurred in July 2008 with 3.012 million dollars.
In this context, the growth rate of exports in June was higher than that obtained in imports, which showed an increase of 38.1 percent.
In disaggregated terms, only traditional exports in June registered a more dynamic, totaling 2.350 billion, representing an increase of 43 percent.
Except for the fishing sector, whose exports fell 21.4 percent in June, the other activities emphasizing positive behaviors showed growth of 102.3 percent in shipments of petroleum and derivatives.
For their part, non-traditional exports totaled $ 667 million in June, with growth of 30.1 percent over June 2009.
Only Textile sector exports fell slightly by 0.6 percent, while the other activities had a positive performance, particularly the chemical whose shipments rose more than 96 percent.
In June Traditional exports accounted for 77 percent of total Peruvian exports, while non-traditional 22 percent.
This data allowed the first half of total exports add up to U.S. $ 15.725 million, ie an improvement of 37.3 percent over the same period in 2009.
During this period traditional exports amounted to U.S. $ 12.225 million, an increase of 43 percent, while the Non-Traditional totaled 3.378 million, registering a growth of 19.4 percent. (Andina)
